Ten Things To Love iPhone

11 08 2008

1. Smart email. Rich HTML emails and “push” email. This looks like a phone that it will be fun to email on, rather than a phone that you use to check your email is really, really have to.

2. Advanced Safari browser. iPhone lets you see any web page the way it was designed to be seen, then easily zoom in by simply tapping on the multi-touch display with your finger which will change mobile browsing for the good. It does really look like “the Internet in your pocket” as Steve suggests. So you can read a web page while downloading your email in the background.

3. User Interface. iPhone features the most revolutionary user interface since the mouse. It’s an entirely new interface based on a large multi-touch display and innovative new software that lets you control everything using only your fingers. Finally no more lost stylus action, Apple’s Multi-Touch software makes the stylus redundant.

4. Smart visual voice mail. The iPhone lets you select and listen to voice mail messages in whatever order you want — just like email using a revolutionary new feature called the visual voice mail.

5. Smart iPod. iPhone is a not just a phone it is wide screen iPod with touch controls that lets you enjoy all your content — including music, audio books, videos, TV shows, and movies — on a beautiful 3.5-inch wide screen display.

6. Plenty of Storage. You could put all the stuff that you like including contacts, podcast, pictures, music and videos as in one. It’s look likes external hardisk in your pocket with  8 GB / 16 GB space.

7. Smart sensors. With three built-in sensors, the iPhone knows more about what it is doing than I do. A proximity sensor, an accelerometer that automatically switches from landscape to portrait mode and back and ambient light sensors make this more self-aware device on the market.

8. Smart design. Sure it looks nice. Thin (11.6 mm), sparse and elegant, designed so that the software and hardware work perfectly together.

9. Smart integration. I’ve grown to love of syncing my phones with my PC through third-party conduits and software. In other hand syncing and running on to my iPhone is much reliable and all supported by many organizations.

10. Smart heart. OS X: All the power and sophistication of an advanced operating system that gives you access to true desktop-class applications and software, including rich HTML email, applications such as widgets, Safari, calendar, text messaging, Notes, and Address Book etc. iPhone is fully multi-tasking!

“Home” button have been there since iPhone firmware 1.1.1. Actually, most user don’t know “Home”  button is very use full. I am sure many of you listen to music on your iPhone while surfing the internet or while using other applications, after all iPhone is also the best iPod Apple has created so far.

If you wanted to access the iPod controls while using any application simultaneously, you might be hitting the home button and then launching the iPod application from the home screen. However, there is some tricks to access the iPhone’s iPod controls.

What would you do is just double clicking the “Home” button on your iPhone brings up a set of controls for volume, skipping tracks, and pausing your music without leaving the current application. There’s even a “Music” button that takes you straight to the iPod application.

This trick also works while you phone in the unlock mode where at your iPhone screen shows “Slide to unlock”. If you double click the “Home” button from “Slide to unlock” screen or when the iPhone is in sleep mode, a set of iPod controls will appear below the clock which give you access to play/pause, skip, and volume controls. Even tough, when you have no music playing, then double-clicking the “Home” button will bring up your Favorites list in the Phone apps.

You can customize the “Home” button double-click feature from Settings >> General >> Home Button.

This is extremely helpful when you need quick access to your phone from another application.
